This year, the theme of World Environment Day is ‘Putting an End to Plastic Pollution.’ Plastic pollution is no longer just a litter problem, it is deeply intertwined with the triple planetary crisis we face today: climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental pollution. From the burning of fossil fuels to produce plastic, to the microplastics contaminating our oceans and food chains, the impact is far-reaching and deeply alarming. Plastic chokes marine life, disrupts ecosystems, and contributes to greenhouse gas emissions throughout its lifecycle. What we once considered a convenience has now become a global hazard. This World Environment Day is a call to action for individuals, communities, industries, and governments to shift towards sustainable alternatives, reduce plastic dependency, and support a circular economy. The time to act is now before the plastic we discard today becomes the crisis we can’t escape tomorrow. Let’s take a stand. Let’s turn the tide on plastic.

🌊 D H A N U S H K O D I “At the edge of sacred and the storm” Driving through the narrow stretch from Rameswaram to Dhanushkodi feels like passing through a forgotten chapter of history. On either side, the sea murmurs tales of a once lively town, washed away by the cyclone of 1964, now left behind in ruins, wind, and silence. As the road ends, you find yourself where the Bay of Bengal gently meets the Indian Ocean. Beyond that lies only mist and myth ‘Ram Setu’, the legendary bridge said to lead to Lanka. As you stand there, you witness a rare sight; the angry Indian Ocean crashing with the quiet Bay of Bengal. It feels like watching two powerful emotions in water form: one boiling with ancient rage, the other calm, as if carrying centuries of sorrow. And right between them stands Dhanushkodi; delicate, yet unwavering. Cont….👇

Kinnakorai – A Hidden Hamlet in the Nilgiris Our journey to Kinnakorai began from the rugged charm of Attapadi, winding along the scenic Mulli road that slowly climbs into the emerald folds of the Nilgiris. As we crossed the border from Kerala into Tamil Nadu, the landscape transformed—misty valleys, rolling tea gardens, and pine-shaded slopes welcomed us like a forgotten dream. Kinnakorai is a quiet, secluded hamlet nestled deep in the Nilgiri hills, far from the noise of tourism and modern chaos. It’s a place where time slows down. Surrounded by dense shola forests and serene tea estates, this little-known gem offers a perfect retreat for nature lovers and wanderers seeking peace. The mornings here are golden and crisp, often with clouds floating across the hilltops. The air is cool, fresh, and filled with birdsong.
