Children who are deeply loved, consistently and unconditionally, tend to move through the world with a kind of innate belonging. They don’t need to “deserve” life; they just are, and that’s enough. But for those of us who didn’t receive that steady, safe love, the psyche often builds meaning as a survival structure. We become seekers. Meaning becomes the scaffolding that holds up our existence. Service, creation, spiritual searching, these are how we prove (to ourselves, and the world) that we have a right to be here. The deeper wound underneath is the longing to be loved for nothing. Not for being good. Not for being helpful. Just… for being. Francesca and Olivia 2025
