Nietzsche's philosophy is so full of life precisely because it is an attempt to integrate seemingly irreconcilable opposites, the transcendent and numinous within the immanent. Schelling himself said that the dialectic of two opposing forces in constant struggle was the generating principle of the cosmos. "We must realize that everything that is born must be prepared for a painful decline. We are forced to look into the horrors of individual existence, and yet we must not be frozen in terror: a metaphysical consolation momentarily pulls us out of the machinery of changing figures. We ourselves are truly, for brief moments, the primordial being, and we feel its untamed longing and untamed pleasure in existence; the struggle, the torment, the annihilation of appearances now seem necessary to us, given the overabundance of innumerable forms of existence that press and push themselves to live, given the overflowing fertility of the will of the world." -Nietzsche
