The Telegram founder referred to a post he made on October 10, 2017—his 33rd birthday—where he listed seven things he had eliminated from his life: alcohol, meat (except fish), any kind of medication (except for dental procedures), nicotine and other drugs, coffee, black and green tea, energy drinks (replaced by herbal teas), fast food, sugar and soda, as well as television and its equivalents.
Durov also previously shared that in 2018 he gave up gluten, dairy, eggs, and fructose, and that in 2019 he practiced water fasting, consuming only water for several days at a time.
In an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson, he said he hasn’t used a smartphone for nearly a year, as he considers it distracting and a threat to privacy. He admitted to using a phone only twice a week to test Telegram updates.
