Galarsan-Gorarsan Fortress Galarsan-Gorarsan (meaning "Come and See" in Azerbaijani) is a medieval fortress located near the city of Sheki, in northwestern Azerbaijan. Built in the 8th–9th centuries, it sits atop a steep hill overlooking the Kish River valley. The fortress was strategically positioned to defend against foreign invasions and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. According to legend, when an enemy army demanded surrender, the local ruler replied, "Galarsan, gorarsan" – "Come and see." The fortress was never captured, and the name has lived on ever since. Today, Galarsan-Gorarsan is a popular historical site visited for its scenic views and cultural significance.
