my first amtrak trip was from SF to LA exactly ten years ago. it was the one that's supposed to have really nice views, so i specifically booked a daytime trip to see the sunset etc but then the train broke down in san luis obispo 😭 and by the time we got to the *supposedly nice views* it was pitch black outside lmao
