Bitfarms Halts Bitcoin Mining and Shifts to AI Data Centers
Bitfarms has announced that over the next two years it will wind down its Bitcoin mining operations and gradually transition to AI focused data centers. The Canadian company has signed a $128 million agreement with a major U.S. data center infrastructure provider. The conversion of its 18 megawatt Washington site is expected to be completed by December 2026 and will support Nvidia GPUs.
