Circle, the company behind USDC, has launched the public testnet for its payments-oriented blockchain, Arc, with partners such as BlackRock, Visa, HSBC, AWS, and Anthropic already involved. Arc is designed to facilitate real-world financial transactions onchain, offering USD-denominated fees, sub-second settlement, and optional privacy features. Circle also stated that it intends to progressively decentralize Arc by expanding validator participation and governance over time.
