Harsh rhetoric alert: According to Axios, Trump recently described Somali immigrants including Ilhan Omar and the wider Somali-American community as “garbage” who “contribute nothing.” 
Many see this as more than political talk. it’s dehumanizing and deeply racist. 
Result: The Somali community is scared and outraged. In places like Minnesota, people live in fear of being targeted even if they are U.S. citizens. 
The bigger issue: using a few alleged crimes or fraud cases to condemn an entire group that ends up hurting ordinary families, community ties, and America’s values of diversity and inclusion.
