One of the scariest punishments in Islam isn't the fire, it's when Allah withdraws His guidance. When you're left alone with your ego and desires, when reminders stop reaching your heart, when advice feels empty, when signs no longer shake you. You become numb, detached, convinced you're fine, wallahi, that's the deepest kind of loss.
