I’ve always struggled with reproducibility. IMO it’s more of a meme than a legitimate check on sci/eng research. Potentially high impact claims will attract reproduction attempts. Everything else (99% of research) will never (and shouldn’t ever?) be attempted again — there’s no incentive for it.
