Hummus Homemade hummus is so easy and way tastier than anything from the store. This simple recipe makes it extra smooth, fluffy, and flavorful. What You’ll Need: Chickpeas: 1 can (15 oz), drained, or 1 ½ cups cooked Lemon Juice: ¼ cup (from 1 large lemon) Tahini: 1/4 cup (stirred well!) Garlic: 1 small clove, minced Olive Oil: 2 tbsp + more for drizzling Cumin: 1/2 tsp Salt: To taste Cold Water or Aquafaba: 2–3 tbsp (for texture) Topping Options: Paprika, sumac, or Za’atar How to Make It: Whip the Tahini & Lemon Juice: Blend for 1 minute, scrape, then blend 30 seconds more to make it super creamy. Add Flavor: Mix in olive oil, garlic, cumin, and salt. Blend until smooth. Blend the Chickpeas: Add half the chickpeas, blend 1 minute, scrape, then add the rest and blend until thick. Adjust Texture: Slowly add cold water or aquafaba while blending until smooth and fluffy. Taste & Serve: Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with paprika, sumac, or Za’atar, and enjoy!
