I joined @coinbase btw. If you didn't see on twitter, go and have a look! Normal job announcements are boring. I had to do something different, and a twitter takeover felt right So, why Coinbase? They’re the best in the industry. But, they’ve been getting a lot of stick. Part of the solution is right here on twitter The new focus is making comms more social native - direct, transparent and engaging. That's the path to building a bigger appreciation for everything they’ve contributed to this space (which is a lot), and to help reconnect with ct. They’re already working on it, and I’ve joined to be a part of that change It’s a big job, it won’t be easy, and that’s why I took it. I spent an entire year wondering where I was going to work next. This is how I started thinking about it: - I want to solve unique, challenging problems - I want exposure to the smartest people possible - The position should be high leverage (do well = can have a big impact) - I need to farm skills. If I'm not learning, I'm not interested - I need to be able to have fun. Non-negotiable. No corporate BS, no ridiculous content review processes, etc Thinking selfishly, there was a lot I wanted to get out of my next job. The trick is to find a place where your ‘selfish’ needs align with their culture and what they want to get out of you. For me, that place is Coinbase I love Coinbase’s mission and purpose. They’ve undeniably played a huge part in the rise of crypto, and I know they’ll keep doing everything possible to grow this space. I personally owe a lot to the crypto industry, so I deeply appreciate all Coinbase has contributed, while literally defining and setting the standards of good behaviour By nature of a role like this, I’ll get exposure to all kinds of new things and seriously smart people across the business. And I’ll get to work directly with the exec team, which is something I simply couldn’t say no to I’m grateful to have been given this opportunity. It feels like a perfect fit. There’s a clear problem to solve, a huge potential to be unlocked by doing so, and it’ll be a net benefit to all of crypto This should be fun. Back to work 🫡

One of the most interesting outcomes of Kaito and Loudio is observing the motivations of a creator and how they are perceived: - Speculation of infinite upside is valued significantly higher than a set fee, even if the realistic outcome is low - InfoFi adds a layer of plausible deniability. It *feels* more mercinary and therefore less like a sellout or endorsement, which is a small but vital piece for decision making - Gamification, leaderboards and PVP mechanics continue to be highly effective at stirring discussion and competition - Freedom of operation is more appealing than briefs and contracts - Reducing friction for being a paid creator does what you would expect: reaches more players, and welcomes smaller creators into the mix - Reputation risk is far lower when promoting something pre-tge - Scaling reward size based on proven impact clearly increases motivation
