@alexmasmej
This marks the bottom of crypto social.
Farcaster got acquired.
Lens got acquired.
The truth is: web2 network effects have so far been too strong to beat via the “crypto clone of mainstream app” strategy. It’s too capital intensive and slow to catchup.
Recently founders have taken note, and the current meta seems to be taking inspiration from Polymarket.
Polymarket is adjacent to mainstream news, not a news app clone.
Similarly, crypto social should be adjacent to mainstream social, NOT a literal social app (at least at first).
See Frenzy by @salvino (adjacent to TikTok), bags.fm (adjacent to X AI slop), the believe app (adjacent to X creators) and soon breakout.app all running this new playbook.
