Why can’t Jack Dorsey see that Farcaster will surpass X while Nostr won't? This isn't tribalism, just rational analysis. Farcaster targets billions of users whereas Nostr is tailored for rebellious libertarians at best.

I think a big part of it has to do with the fact that Jack is bullish on Bitcoin, which Nostr has fully embraced within their ecosystem. Also, the peer-to-peer architecture more or less ensures that no one can control the network more than anyone else. I'm still leaning about Farcaster and what ideas it brings to the table specifically, but I don't think this has to be a zero-sum game between different projects.

This is so true! Nostr is for angry BTC maxis that like to post about ‘ah, nostr feels like freedom’ Farcaster is what X should be, but can’t. In the end the protocol approach > app approach.
