Trying to wrest control of my data in some relatively low-lift ways. Aiming for privacy and quality with little overhead and maintenance. So far, I:
- switched primary email to Fastmail
- trialed Orion browser and Kagi. I like Orion
- figuring out my own file sharing with Tailscale and Nextcloud on a small Lenovo w/ Ubuntu. Don’t want pay Dropbox anymore
- unsubbed from iCloud and archiving my phone data using iMazing
- switching default ISP hardware w/ some UniFi devices (interested in setting up a pi hole too to avoid ads)
De-googling will be the final boss
Still relying on Backblaze for passive off-site backups. Feels like such a good deal still
