ZKsync has announced plans to retire ZKsync Lite (formerly ZKsync 1.0), the zero-knowledge rollup introduced in 2020, with deprecation scheduled for 2026. The update won’t impact other ZKsync systems, and the team will release a detailed timeline and migration instructions next year. According to ZKsync, Lite has fulfilled its original purpose, and roughly $50 million in assets remain bridged to the network, with L1 withdrawals continuing to function normally.
