🥸 The illusion of Web2 security just cost me 8 years of my life.
My Telegram account was deleted today in under 60 minutes. No warning. No explanation. No "suspicious login" alerts.
I had the full "security suite" enabled:
- Two-Step Verification (2FA) via email
- Passkeys active
- Long-term Premium subscriber
- Active Mini App developer
None of it mattered. In a centralized system, you don’t own your identity-you’re just renting it. If a black-box algorithm (or a mass-reporting bot attack) decides you're gone, you're gone.
8 years of archives, a personal blog, and dev projects vanished because of a "Deleted Account" status I didn't initiate.đź‘Ť
This is the ultimate wake-up call for why we build on Farcaster and decentralized stacks. In Web2, "security" is just a permission that can be revoked at any moment.
