Did the 2026 vs. 2016 trend cross over to Farcaster yet? 🤭 This is me in Saint-Étienne, France, where I was finishing my master’s degree in Cultural Entrepreneurship and Music Business and completing my internship at 1D Lab, a platform cooperative that runs a digital cultural resource platform. 1D Lab’s mission was to provide a fair, independent alternative to major streaming services like Spotify and Deezer, with a strong focus on independent artists and shared governance. Coming from Bulgaria, where the indie sector has largely operated underground (and still does, even ten years later), with little to no media attention and no dedicated streaming platforms, I found this model truly inspiring. Most importantly, this is where and when I discovered Ethereum and the first wave of music startups integrating blockchain technology. I was so fascinated, practically hooked, that I dedicated my thesis to how blockchains can transform the music industry 👇
