Feels like the literal representation of “nature is healing”
As someone who started a couple of companies, I was firmly in the “No” camp. However, my views have since evolved. Hiring a fractional PM in the beginning gives you a good starting velocity. As a founder, you have the product vision. Hiring an good founding team PM takes time that you can better use to execute.
The other unintended consequence is that when you find such a person, you can expect a clash as well (you can’t hire a great PM and not give them sufficient autonomy to influence the the product - feels very oxymoronic to me). So instead of building you are wasting time here.
