Kafka said: "Writing is a deeper sleep than death... No, writing means leaping out of the row of killers" For him, writing was life itself. Every time he took up the pen to add something new to the world, he felt truly alive. This interpretation means that to feel alive, a human being needs to create , and for Kafka, writing was exactly that. We are living in an era when Iranians feel an increasing sense of deadness day by day. Spending endless hours at work , work that bears no particular fruit and leads only to mere survival , has convinced the people of this land that they are like the walking dead, merely going through the motions. They no longer even fear death as much as they once did. A life spent solely on running and breathing offers no connection to pleasure or joyful experiences. It provides no opportunity for talents or arts to flourish and be expressed. It lacks even the peace of an ordinary existence. In the truest sense, it is "nothing" , and when the constant dread of losing even this nothing haunts you, there is no room left for vitality. All that remains is shame, despair, and rage. Dreams are forgotten more and more each day, while resentments accumulate moment by moment. Bodies waste away not only from overwork but from turbulent thoughts. We become like wandering ghosts, trapped in a purgatory between continuing and giving up. A young person does not sit down before the devil as a sign of surrender, but out of utter desperation. Escape brings him no life, and his subconscious whispers that when there is no life ahead, perhaps it is better to stop right here. That young man, like millions of others in this country, is simply trying to flee death , a death he knows will not release him even if he escapes the enemy's bullets.
