Something I realized much late: to be a good designer, you need to be taste-maxxing in a very weird way: immersing yourself in esoteric art, reading obscure books that aren't written for the bestseller crowd, watching contemporary cinema, studying urban design, watching others play video games, engaging with economic history.

working with four AI coding agents in parallel always feels subtly cyberpunk to me - checking token usage, watching execution traces, reading chain-of-thought, context window math, double checking prompts. and in the end, a bunch of digital souls i've never seen have collectively agreed and made my thing happen, so cool!

Async all-boys group chat is the greatest digital social scene this side of the great firewall. Checkins 1x/2x a day. No pressure to respond instantly, the conversational ball doesn't get dropped. Momentum builds slowly. Constant seeding in each other's retarded thoughts throughout the week over a barrage of texts at once, occasionally adversarial to one another. Finding the right layer to address a political, cultural thought, constructing good abstractions in such a way that the aliveness and nebulous feeling of togetherness stays. despite the best efforts of the global entertainment industry the most entertaining content is a boys group chat.

how do you visulalise the future of front-end development? There are interesting things becoming forefront like HTMX, WebAssembly, SolidJS, Astro 3.0 etc. Do you think we are over-engineering? How will you shape up a framework if you launch one today? Excited and looking forward to what you do next.
