The Nebuta Festival brings a lively and dramatic atmosphere to the streets of Aomori from August 2 to 7 each year.
This festival is a fusion of ancient Chinese traditions and local customs, in which floats carrying large lanterns called “nebuta” are paraded through the streets accompanied by “haneto” (dancers).
