AI Companions lack the essence of companionship today. Current experience stales after several chats because as a user you hit some of these reasons: 1. Responses get predictable 2. Her character can't be 'cracked' This happens because they are relatively one-dimensional meaning which we append a character card with guiding prompts, and thereafter they respond within that boundaries. But companionship shouldn't FEEL static, they should be evolving. Akin to how we make friends or fall in love w our partners, they need to be constantly living their best lives, collect life stories etc. so that they never get boring when we hang. Take this multiply by year spent with them = companionship. In that sense, AI Companions have to develop long-term memory with users in different contexts to evolve while along the way, being interesting to the users that they actually care to develop a relationship. In a human sense, it's like choosing whether a stranger you met is interesting enough to befriend with.
