I’m a strong supporter of the EVM, and it’s clear that L2s are critical for making the technology efficient and keeping costs low. That said, the politics around L2 ecosystems can be frustrating. For example, the heavy alignment of certain platforms like @base.base.eth, @farcaster, and usdc feels limiting at times. As a builder, it’s discouraging that meaningful support often requires deploying on an L2 that may not even have sufficient liquidity depth. What the space truly needs is more independent, non-affiliated venture capital to support innovation across ecosystems, not just those tied to specific L2 narratives.
