They weren't oblivious to the damage they caused. They knew what they had done; it's just that they cared more about how they looked to others than they did about doing the right thing.
They weren't unaware, they were just selfish, and when you realise this you'll understand that there is nothing you could have done to help them to see your pain, because their true character was revealed through the way they chose to handle it.🤷♂️
