i explained something along these lines to my daughter last night when she asked if i was a 'famous' artist. i told her no & that it wasn't a goal of mine. she asked why. i told her that to be famous you have to appeal to many people, and most people are 'mid' —middling taste, middling intellect, middling values—and that is boring. also, i am disinterested in compromising my values & using evil to attain things, but that's a different topic. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
