Musical composition with instrumentals transcend culture and language barriers. Music is a unifier of people and the human race. There are musical pieces created for division, manipulation, expression of anger, angst, hypnotism and chanting the wrong things into power/existence through lyrics. Music in some instances is more powerful than a jpeg because it can transcend the need to understand the context of said event at display (language and culture). Memes are a great tool, mainly for the same people who speak the same language and have the same culture. Memes like music, can also be hijacked for propaganda and all of the bad/negative things above. But if you really want to have an impact generationally over the period of decades and century scales, it’s music. 69-96% of the world population can recognize a musical piece from Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, Michael Jackson etc.. because it’s a catchy melody and an ear worm, naturally occurring all around us for centuries through bird songs (when they are happy, chill, worried/something scary in the environment). However, a thing to note is the people with a financial and nefarious interests who pay the radio stations to keep playing xyz song on repeat for selfish gain reasons.
