Learning it's alright to reset whatever my healthy sleep routine is, has been important to building longer term incremental improvements. If you have a temporarily different schedule, wake up late one day or on the weekends, when sick, etc., reset to your healthy routine as soon as you can do so. I knew my sleep schedule would be different while watching my nephew a few weeks ago so I turned off my morning alarm for those days to be able to catch up on sleep when possible and restarted my normal alarm after to reset.
