It’s not there isn’t a mechanism (it’s empathy) it’s just that it isn’t elevated above the punching down.

Helping builders get direct user feedback on needs and desires is a superpower in this ecosystem. The wrong incentives drive the wrong results!

The problem with online shaming and callout culture is that there is no mechanism for communal reparations or forgiveness.

btw Solana by far most painful chain to work on + most expensive: 1. Cost $150 to deploy the program 2. Gas fees cost me 20c each time a crush is posted 3. Dev environment full on nightmare 4. Verifying a contract requires Docker? and pulling GBs of images? and doesn't even work?

Abstracting the convoluted aspects is a worthy quest. Looking forward to seeing this place grow.

To be clear it’s “sufficiently” centralized. Network stability be damned.

Life is short and there are so many good things to enjoy. Why keep tasting the rancid meat to see if it has any redeeming qualities?

There's only one feature that would make me kick Notion to the curb with the webclipper, and thats the ability to select specific CSS elements on the page I'm scraping. For instance, I want to save a cast here and have the author of the cast be captured into specific author field. Having a css selector would grab the code, which can then be inserted into the template so going forward it knows where to look on the page. 🙏 please consider this. Other than that the bases + webclipper combo is just what the app needs.

2/ These aren’t assets. They’re butthole coins, poofy bags of air, shitcoins that exist to spike the charts and dopamine. And that's the point.

Every competitive tech market has been through this kind of dick measuring contest. Eventually it gets to the point where it's just diminishing returns with these stats. In the end these charts appeal mainly to enthusiasts and investors. With the exception of certain use cases, the general public won't notice the incremental difference in their daily usage.

Control is the illusion. Having said that, every time you veer into a side quest, you learn how to better approach a main one.

There's definitely a sunk cost fallacy at play here when experimenting with these things. Everyone approaches this differently, but for me I have to have a somewhat stable outline I'm working from so I don't veer off into the weeds.
