"Cutting the Stone" by H. Bosch, reimagined
Bosch depicts human madness and credulity. What is depicted is a type of surgical operation that was performed during the Middle Ages, which, according to written accounts, consisted of removing a stone that caused a person's foolishness. It was believed that mad people were those who had a stone in their head.
