"The Ballet Class" by Degas, reimagined The ballet class is one of Degas' most ambitious works and his first large canvas depicting dancers. He began working on the painting in 1873, commissioned by opera singer Jean-Baptiste Faure, one of the few commissions Degas accepted in his lifetime. Degas struggled greatly with the composition, and work progressed slowly at first. However, because Faure insisted on receiving his painting on time, Degas produced a variation of the work in a relatively short period of time. https://rodeo.club/post/7410779966189252608
