"The Burial of the Count of Orgaz" by El Greco, reimagined.
The painting represents the two dimensions of human existence: death below and heaven above.
El Greco painted it at the height of his artistic maturity. It has architectural rigor and extraordinary unity despite being divided into two parts. All the elements of the painter's Mannerist style are present in this work: elongated figures, foreshortening, bright and acidic colors, and arbitrary use of light and shadow to mark the distances between the different planes.
