The First Great Vow: Honor the Buddhas What is honoring the Buddhas? There are countless infinite kalpas in the ten directions of the world, and in the infinite kalpas there are countless buddhas, and these buddhas are surrounded by many bodhisattvas. This is not just a theoretical statement; the divine transformations of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are indeed so incredible. First of all, by studying the Avatamsaka Sutra and the Lotus Sutra of the Wonderful Law, after realizing the merits of the Buddhas, we are able to develop profound faith. Knowing that all Buddhas have limitless and boundless merits, we should rightly pay homage with our own body, speech, and mind in front of these Buddhas; or we should visualize ourselves transforming into countless bodies like the Pratyekabuddha Cloud Offerings, and pay homage to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the limitless kalpas with the three doors. With great reverence and respect, we visualize ourselves in countless bodies, bowing to the Buddhas one by one,
