I've been playing Outpost: Infinity Siege, which is a FPS-Tower Defense hybrid. The campaign has you go out on 'tours' to scavenge materials, which you use to upgrade your modular outpost, then defend against waves of enemies while extracting the loot. Or you do 'Infinity Siege' mode for straight up endless defense.
