Base isn’t abandoning the idea of being Ethereum secured or interoperable it’s just taking complete ownership of its infrastructure stack so it can move faster and innovate independently. This doesn’t mean it’s totally isolated from Optimism; it’s more like Base is shifting from being a dependent OP Stack rollup to being an autonomous L2 running its own codebase optimized for its needs.
