Who's Jesse Pollak?
Jesse Pollak is a seasoned blockchain engineer, entrepreneur, and technology leader known for creating Base, the Ethereum Layer-2 network backed by Coinbase. As Head of Protocols at Coinbase, he oversees the development of Base and plays a central role in shaping the company’s on-chain strategy. In 2024, he advanced into a broader executive position, taking on expanded responsibilities within the Coinbase Wallet organization.
Before his work at Coinbase, Pollak founded Clef, a startup focused on passwordless two-factor authentication, and previously led multiple engineering teams within Coinbase. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, bringing a strong technical foundation to his leadership roles.
Driven by a vision to make blockchain accessible to everyone, Pollak is focused on building a low-cost, high-throughput, developer-friendly ecosystem that leverages Ethereum’s security.
