Occurrence: Azurite is commonly found in arid regions with copper deposits. Notable localities include Tsumeb in Namibia, Chessy-les-Mines near Lyon in France, and Bisbee in Arizona, USA. Uses: Pigment: Historically, azurite was ground into a pigment for blue paints, especially during the Middle Ages. However, over time, it can alter to malachite, causing a color shift to green.
