It contains furanocoumarins, which contribute to a multiple increase in the concentration of active substances of medicines in the blood, which can lead to an overdose. The high-risk group includes antiarrhythmic, antihistamines, hypolipidemic and antitussive drugs, and in total, undesirable effects from mixing with grapefruit juice have been identified in at least 40 drugs, including medications for erectile dysfunction.
