Day by day the activity on Farcaster feels like it’s slowing down. You can see it in the timeline… fewer conversations, fewer new projects launching and more teams quietly shutting things down.
A big reason is simple: most people can’t find a sustainable way to earn here. Builders and creators put in months of work but without consistent incentives or revenue streams, it becomes very hard to keep going long term. Passion can start a project, but it usually can’t keep it alive forever.
We’ve already seen many projects close or pause and some community members drifting away because the rewards just aren’t there right now. In any ecosystem, incentives matter. When people feel their time and effort can lead to real value, they stay, build, and bring others with them.
If something like weekly rewards or stronger incentive programs return, there’s a good chance activity could bounce back. Communities often respond quickly when there’s a clear reason to participate again. Until then, it may remain challenging for many projects to survive here over the long run....

Still, ecosystems move in cycles. Sometimes things slow down before the next wave of builders and ideas arrives. 🚀
