my toxic (most fabulous?) trait ia that anytime I want to read a book I start hunting down an old/first edition. if it’s a new book, I look for a stylized hardcover. like I just cannot bring myself to purchase a mass market paperback with a glossy print and a penguin on the cover.
currently hunting east of eden. it’s much more in demand than his other novels. one order was already cancelled, but I am not deterred. book aesthetics are important.
