DStv and GOtv have lost 38% of their subscribers in Zambia, 15% in Kenya and 13% in Nigeria. Their annual revenue went up by 26% in Nigeria, 10% in Kenya and 6% in Angola due to their price hikes.

This was the exact reason they increased their prices: they needed to boost their income. They could either raise their prices or increase the number of subscribers. However, with the rate at which customers were unsubscribing, their only option was to increase prices. This
