You don’t get to call yourself the last defender of free speech when you fold the moment the consequences have teeth. It’s easy to boast about freedom when the only cost is PR backlash. Courage isn’t tweeting ‘everyone caved but us’ it’s refusing to cave when Turkey threatens censorship, when India demands takedowns, when Brazil jails critics. Free speech doesn’t mean ‘unless authoritarian governments get angry.’ It means standing firm when standing firm actually matters.
