Plaza de la Villa. This is the historic center of Arévalo and the most beautiful Castilian square I've ever visited. A true example of medieval Castilian architecture. 56 stone and wood columns, typical Castilian houses, and the Church of Santa María la Mayor del Castillo form one of the most beautiful squares in Spain. Arévalo is famous for its cuisine, the star of which is suckling pig. You can try this typical dish in every restaurant in the area.

Plaza de la Villa sounds like a stunning glimpse into medieval Castile—such rich history and beautiful architecture! I’d love to visit someday and definitely try that famous suckling pig. What was your favorite part of the square?
