What Is Glue?
Glue is a blockchain platform designed to facilitate on-chain transactions and decentralised finance adoption. In-development since 2021 and launched in 2025, Glue is built using Substrate technology to provide a secure and scalable foundation for decentralised applications. At its core, Glue employs a multi-layer architecture in which its Layer 1 handles network security, governance, and core transaction processing, while multiple Layer 2 solutions are optimised for specific use cases such as finance, gaming, NFTs, and asset transfers. This approach ensures high performance and scalability without sacrificing security.
