The full version of the original proverb is actually: "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." This means that the bonds we choose (like friendships, partnerships, or found family) can be stronger and more meaningful than those we’re born into. Family should not be an automatic pass for someone to mistreat, manipulate, or harm you. Protecting your mental, emotional, and physical well-being is not selfish it's necessary. Sometimes loving yourself means creating distance, even from people you are related to by blood. So yes it’s okay to cut off toxic family members.

I’m drowning in school work. Not the dramatic, movie-scene kind of drowning just the slow, creeping kind. Where every time I finish one thing, three more show up. Assignments blur together. Deadlines multiply. Coffee’s was my best friend, but I’m taking a break from that. I keep telling myself I’ll catch up this weekend, but the weekend arrives with more work than rest. I’m not complaining (okay, maybe a little), but if anyone sees my sanity, tell it to come home. Until then, I’ll be here : )

When I was little, I’d fall asleep all over the house, curled up on the couch, sprawled out on the carpet mid-play, sometimes with a book still open on my chest. I never made it to bed on purpose. Sleep just found me where I was. But every single morning, I’d wake up in my bed. Tucked in. Lights dim. Blanket pulled up just enough. It was like the house had gently gathered me in its arms and placed me where I belonged. Back then, I didn’t think about how it happened. It just felt safe. Like the world kept watch while I rested. Now I know it wasn’t the house. It was someone who loved me quietly, steadily, without ever needing thanks. Love that carried me when I didn’t even know I needed carrying. That’s the kind of love you remember your whole life. Even when everything else changes.

My ideal Wild Wednesday in @losfomos? A Fool Moon Séance & Wardrobe Sélection. We show up dressed from dreams we forgot. Channel the spirits of extinct fashion houses. Swap accessories blindly. Then embody whatever item we end up with. There is light choreography. Someone cries into a candelabra. Everything is as it should be.

👟 The Adidas vs Puma Feud: Born from a Bomb Shelter Whisper Two brothers. One town. One shoe company. Until everything blew up. In 1924, Adolf (“Adi”) and Rudolf Dassler built a shoe empire together in Herzogenaurach, Germany. Adi designed. Rudi sold. Jesse Owens wore their shoes at the 1936 Olympics and made history. Then came WWII. During an air raid, Adi and his wife ducked into a shelter already occupied by Rudi’s family. Adi muttered, “The dirty bastards are back.” Rudi thought it was about him. Later, Rudi was arrested by Allied forces and blamed Adi for ratting him out. Game over. In 1948, the Dassler brothers split. Adi founded Adidas. Rudi founded Puma. And their hometown? It split, too. Two factories. Two football teams. Even two bakeries. People looked at your shoes before deciding if you were worth talking to. The feud lasted a lifetime. They never spoke again. They were buried in the same cemetery at opposite ends.
