Last week the @farcaster team announced a shift in strategic focus toward developing their wallet, which sparked a noticeable wave of criticism and concern from parts of the community. There was quite a bit of FUD about it throughout the week. But if look at the move more systematically, it's actually pretty logical and strategically sound. In Web3 ecosystems, the wallet is the key point of interaction - it’s the main entryway into dapps, infrastructure, and constitutes a significant part of the UX. For Farcaster, the wallet isn't just some extra feature, it's becoming a core layer that connects users with the entire ecosystem: clients, mini-apps, launchers, tokens, and all kinds of services. Basically, this is about building a foundation that everything else can be built on top of, not replacing the social aspect. In my opinion, the social network isn't going anywhere, it's still a central part of the platform. But its potential grows a lot when there's a strong, native wallet baked into the ecosystem. As @dwr rightly pointed out, creating a high-quality, convenient, reliable tool massively boosts user retention and encourages people to stay active within the network. This approach gives users a smooth, continuous experience across the whole platform.

Projects on Monad keep finding new ways to amaze - serving up cringe nonstop. An NFT collection dev made an «utility» channel for holders where he just shares his own trading ideas as alpha calls. Before that, he gave holders a $1 airdrop after collecting $40+ per mint. First he rekt everyone in his own project, and now he’s decided to hand out «helpful» advice so they can get rekt in other ones too. Truly top-tier utility and moves, no comment 😄
