Had a lot of fun using SvelteKit as opposed to Next, but React is just so dominant right now. Especially with web3 libraries. You ever tried out Svelte?

Design concept for Ethereum integrated wallet into a web browser sidebar. I personally dislike wallets being extensions, and would love to see browsers integrating web3 more natively. What do you guys think?

Great film! Wasn’t actually as scary as I thought it was going to be, but suppose it’s your tolerance level 😂 So good but, couldn’t get the whole idea of iPhones being used to film it.

From working as a designer for the past 15 years, I’ve had the chance to work with many types of clients, both as part of agencies and as a freelancer. Nothing compares to the startup, fast paced, often crazy world of web3. My experience of the industry has been at times scrappy - I feel that UX is often an afterthought from development, and that hurts products - but combined with this sense of focus and drive. There’s is a freedom in this, an almost resync for me as a designer from working in very bureaucratic and slow web2 based projects. Grateful to have found it, to be contributing, and to continue to design in this field.

Nice man, appreciate the insight! AI has got to such a good level now as well, the ability to build and validate is super quick.

Good approach Nick, something I always struggle with is adding complexity to ideas and abandoning things quite often. How do you approach early validation with users? Or capturing feedback is maybe a better question. X / Product Hunt type platforms?

Yeah approvals are a total UX pain. Smart contract wallets I suppose are a good solution, batching transactions so you can at least group it with the transaction you actually want to do haha

Why do we use "connect" or "connect wallet" in web3 products? Self-explanatory for users familiar with the blockchain, but ask someone outside the space and it will most likely confuse them. Existing patterns and recognisable concepts lead to less cognitive load and a better onboarding experience to new users. Wallets may be a bit different from traditional logins, but conceptually they serve the same purpose - opening up functionality and allowing a user to interact with an app.

Get where you’re coming from but would argue that good UX needs to be prioritised more in web3. I’m biased because I am a UX designer, but I would argue that maybe web3 isn’t competing for the same user base within the space, but it’s competing with a wider range of products people use more generally. Web3 is catered for the converted most of the time - between setting up wallets, understanding gas fees, different networks, unintelligible smart contract functions and block explorers - usability is a total nightmare for anyone coming into it. If we want mass adoption and more users / better product alternatives and new services, good UX is absolutely fundamental to that. It is isn’t difficult to implement either, it can be baked into development from the MVP to future versions. It’s an underutilised discipline in web3.

The “until it’s done, tell none” quote I’ve seen posted a few times, easier said than done though!

For clarification, this concept is not associated with Uniswap. It was simply an idea I had from how a watch might be integrated into crypto, and Uniswap is my favourite DeFi platform, so wanted to combine the two as a design experiment.
