The Figma concept design translated into a Next.js dashboard. Really enjoying building out these apps using shadcn components as the foundation. Getting super fast at this as well, scaffolding the app out in a morning although a lot of functionality is missing / wasn't in the original UI concept.

Been thinking about how design and UX can impact ZK protocols and encourage privacy in areas like DAO votes and governance. Privacy through the selective control over data, participating in open protocols by revealing only what you choose to. Influenced by reading a good bit about privacy on Ethereum here, cheers @wslyvh.eth!

Found a similar approach to be quite helpful when approaching coding stuff with AI. I really don’t like when the AI goes off and starts creating new files that I haven’t named or planned beforehand. Get super messy. Been doing front end stuff, and found actually creating page routes, creating components and functions but leaving them blank at the beginning has been really useful. It tends to respect my “blueprint” - this upfront work saves me massive headaches trying to understand what it’s done - but can easily ask if there is a better way to structure or approach a feature.

UX in the web3 space is severely hampered by the lack of mobile apps offering onchain services and experiences. Average users are spoilt with the amount of web2 business that offer mobile apps, yet this hasn’t came over to web3 yet bar a few examples. Having to go onto the desktop, or navigate a web3 product with a (often badly designed) mobile interface is such a bottleneck for people interacting with web3 products.

We deffo don't do enough pondering on what we are, why we're here. The realm of what would should be 'religious' is found more in science as our understanding of the world deepens. It’s very seldom on peoples minds to consider how this world was created, or who / what created it. Maybe we should just have fun and let the simulation run its course 😅

Realised recently I can do enough frontend to be able to confidently call myself a 'design engineer', and have been able to do so for some time. Maybe it's a confidence thing, or not feeling that I know certain areas 110%. Most likely it's just straight up imposter syndrome, but slowly getting past it, and it feels great!

Was chatting with a friend recently around privacy, ownership, decentralisation & the financial benefits of blockchain. The overwhelming view I picked up was maybe a kind of misalignment of privacy with crime, an almost distrust of his ability to manage his own assets without larger institutions playing a role. A fear of it, might be a good way of saying it. He’s not anti-crypto either. How do you think we can combat this type of mentality and get more people onboard?

Yeah man, be great to see that! Was it a difficult build process to integrate into Farcaster? The UX could deffo be improved big time, it's just finding people or projects willing to take a gamble on me haha 😂 I think not being able to do frontend has had a negative impact. Design itself I think is very secondary for projects, but that UX with frontend balance is maybe more appealing as a freelancer.

Last one I was working through was the Basic Foundry, think I jumped to Advanced at one point and got quickly humbled 😂 Deffo been a while, just been freelancing and trying to improve my coding skills, moving towards more of a design engineering type skillset. What you been working on?

What the comparison like between Claude Code and Cursor btw? Not used Claude yet, but trying to justify if it is worth the extra cost, if Cursor is good enough really.
