whenever i tell someone i'm all in on vibe coding, they ask: "what are you building?" wrong question. i'm building everything i can think of. the biggest opportunity right now is learning how to go from idea to execution as quickly as possible. it's actually a disadvantage to focus on a single idea. why? the experiences you can create in 12-18 months will look nothing like the apps we're used to. we are, without a doubt, in the skeuomorphic phase of post-AI product design right now. fixating on a single idea and app form factor is putting yourself at risk of quickly becoming obsolete. we're about to enter a time where something you ship can become antiquated in a matter of days. here's what i think is worth focusing on: 1. process and workflow with AI code generators 2. falling in love with a problem (not a solution) the goal is to be in a position to ship something useful as fast as you can write a tweet.

I love this and agree. Previously MVPs could take months to get out and discarding an MVP idea becomes harder given the time spent. MVPs in the age of LLMs take days. Discarding one shouldn’t have as much mental friction. Hence experimentation boom. I’ve built 4 apps in 2 months & every iteration I get better.

while I believe that learning to go from idea to execution as quickly as possible is the superpower that we’ve unlocked here, there’s still value in spending time refining and iterating on a single product idea if you want to craft something really high quality that people get value from daily. Going from 0 -> 1 is different from going 1 -> ?

love this. mostly agree. question: what kind of design documents do you draft prior to starting? even if it's just a simple outline. in my own experience, i don't think the first action should be in the prompt line. one needs to clarify one's thoughts and intention before mingling them with the machine. otherwise the meld can bloat ideas and you can lose focus. an underreported phenomenon is how the LLMs will easily let you lose focus if you let them. even a simple email can turn into a magnum opus. you have to remind yourself that less is more. it's not perfect, but a hack i I think everyone could benefit from a standard frame for idea capture to align intent with outcome. curious if you have one
