there are 2 types of creatives: 1. derives meaning from the output 2. derives meaning from the process both want the same thing. and both will win post-AI. but they will hate each other.

i try to create w next to no rules, so guess i tie closer to group 1, but i think the meaning is in the input instead of the output - it's before i take the photo and in the moment of noticing and then meaning from provenance, i hope photos of the world today live on forever onchain - close to output, but not exact

The long road and the short road. Both routes are valid. What matters is the resonance of the final result, not how many steps it took. ⸻ https://farcaster.xyz/ryanfox.eth/0x669bfcc9

A slightly different take, or maybe this is what you mean: Some value what they put into it, while others value the impact. When criticized, the former says, “but I put a lot of time/effort/soul into that!” The latter says, “does it get the job done?”

i have this 4 archetypical model that turns the missionary/mercenary dynamic to two axis model of missionaries/mercenaries and craftsmen/journeymen. the latter part maps to your output vs process framing.

I'm hard core #2 even when i know the process is invisible to the observer and that more work doesn't inherently create more value. just get lost on the sauce

Hmm, I’ve thought about this! In my case, I’m team 1 for work and team 2 for personal projects. In the end, I “study” with personal projects and “apply” with work!

Really interesting breakdown! I think in reality, most of us fluctuate between both, depending on context or project. Curious to know if you think AI will push more people to one side or blur the lines even further.
